FREESPACE FEST
FREESPACE FEST – A CROSS-DISCIPLINARY CULTURAL HAPPENING TO TEST THE BOUNDARIES OF PUBLIC SPACE
Presented by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and co-curated by cross-disciplinary artists - Virginia Hyam, Kung Chi Shing, Daniel Yeung and MaD, Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture, Freespace Fest is an attempt to test the boundaries of cultural freedom in public space where participants can shout, sing, dance or simply play at their will.
It is the space to provide freedom for different cultural elements and art forms to cross, for performers and the public to interact. Come and participate, on-stage or off-stage, at the front or back of house, just to get immersed in activities in this cultural space. Can this journey of exploration and discovery through art be a forerunner of the future West Kowloon?
